Well, at least now we know why they call them “essential” - these TravelDrives come packed only with the bare necessities, meaning : 2.5″ HDD that can come in 160GB, 250GB or 320GB size, a USB 2.0 port and a standard flashing LED. The TravelDrive comes in several colors like : Spring Blossom, Tropic Green, Caribbean Blue or Cool Silver and is priced at around $89.99 - which sounds like a pretty good deal considering the specs.

After the already so hyped announcement of their Eee PC 901, Asus unveiled their latest product - the Eee box. At a first glance you can notice it’s quite about the same size as the Eee PC 901, it weights about 1 KG ( half of what the Eee PC 901 weights). It will come bundled with Intel’s Atom processor clocked at 1.6GHz, 802.11 WiFi, ExpressGate ( 7 second startup), 80GB HDD, 1GB RAM and powered by Windows XP Home editon.

According to Asus, the Eee box is announced to be released to the public in about 4-5 weeks at the small price of $429.

Today LG announced via a press release which can be found here the release of their newest Blu-ray Player - the BD300 which will begin streaming Netflix movies in the US this September. The player is said to cost somewhere around $350-400 and will allow Netflix users to stream more than 10,000 standard definition TV and films through the gadget at no extra cost. Netflix members will enjoy a fast start of the movie, just a bit under 30 seconds after it’s been added in their individual queues. While the technical specifications of the player have not fully been released, Engadget said that it’s going to “easily integrate with LG TVs and AV products“.
