The energy saving water-powered digital clock

Bedol water powered alarm clock pictureMore and more things around us seem to become eco-friendly and so is the case of the Water-powered digital clock from Bedol. As announced by Bedol, the water-powered clock is their first gizmo that falls under the eco-friendly category. Besides a dash of water you’re also going to need a bit of salt to power it. I for one don’t know why more devices like this one have been invested because the principle its built on is fairly simple. The electrodes inside the clock harvest the energy to power it. It comes with a roundish shape, measuring 4″ in height and 3 1/2″ in width and also comes in four different colors : Blue, Charcoal, Green and Orange.

Priced at only $16 this device is aimed at pleasing ‘green’ loving tech-savvy people and can make up for a great gift.

A different IM notifier - the iKnock

USB powered IM notifier I-knock pictureWell we’ve seen many useless USB powered gizmos in the past, but this one beats them all. This ‘different’ IM notifier is nothing more than a self punishing doll that hits its head with a hammer whenever your friends IM you.

Think of it this way, if this device is addressed to IM obsessed people why would they need a gizmo to announce their newly received message? Do the producers think such a person would ever leave his / her computer signed-in and move away from it ? We think not. It’s completely useless even for IM freaks but it could make up as a good gift though, in its utterly useless purpose it still makes for a good laugh when you hear the funny head banging noise.

Asus Vito W1 heart monitoring mouse

Asus vito W1 heart monitoring mouse pictureApparently, the need to combine condition monitoring devices with almost anything around us has become a trend. Although we don’t have anything against it, and we’ve actually put one product on our Top 5 nifty concepts of this year ( the diabetes monitoring car ) this one is utterly useless. Besides the possibilities of checking your heart rate when you’re playing a breathtaking game or checking the stock market, there isn’t too much to this mouse. It comes bundled with a pulse rate sensor that will send the information to a simple heart-monitoring software which will interpret the data and display an emoticon on your screen, correspondent to your heart rate. It comes with a smallish USB driver, a sensitivity of 1200dpi, a maximum range of 30 feet ( 9,1 meters ) and 5 programmable buttons.No word on a price nor on a release date just yet.

iPhone 3G solar powered charging case

Since the launch of the iPhone 3G many people have complained about the short battery life, and several solutions have been already made available to the public, like battery packs and rechargeable hip holsters.

The solar powered charging case from Mobile Fun has an advantage over all the other devices : it’s sun chargeable. The case itself holds a 1500mAh battery pack that can be charged by the sun in about 3 hours.

The case has been announced for release in August in monochromatic flavors and is priced around $54.

Meizu M8 caught on film {phone unreleased}

If the last iPhone replica was not enough for you, we’re pleased to present you the Meizu M8 which is being developed by J. Wong and his team.

According to a post on Engadget this phone was announced to be released to the public this year in February and March - it appears it’s not entirely true. After numerous tweaks and makeovers this phone still isn’t ready to be presented to the public other than in pictures.

According to some sources, they seem to be putting the finishing touches on their device’s web browser, and as shocking as this may seem their inspiration is Nokia. Visit this link for more pics but don’t expect to find a release date or price because you won’t.
